Jon Spayde talks with Sherry and Victoria about how the V-Team, and businesses like them, take an active role in helping him edit the new online magazine The Line, based in the Twin Cities. In his role as editor, Jon is responsibile for the "big picture"--the webzine's overall direction, the things it covers, and the tone it sets; at the same time he has to take care of minutiae: which articles have been assigned to writers, when they are due to be edited and to run in the magazine, and when writers need to be paid. A lot can go wrong with so much to do--Jon shares some war stories--but with V-Team's help with scheduling and staying on top of the vital "small stuff," Jon finds that he is a lot freer to concentrate on the fun part of magazine editing--getting good ideas for stories, finding the perfect writer for each one, and helping the writer shape both idea and story so everybody enjoys the process. Join the V-Team as they have a great discussion with Jon about the ins and outs of his magazine production and how he keeps the fun in his job while getting all of the important stuff done as well.
