Marion L. Jones is the author of “Poems from within Me, a Recovering Addict,” and a motivational speaker who shares his story of how he made it through his circumstances, highlighting to audiences that there is a way out. Although the book has been a work in progress since 1998, the book became a full-time reality in 2006, a gift he says was given to him by God. Jones is a former drug user and has been clean and in recovery since October 19, 2005. It was then that he realized that he could help others with his testimonial poems of encouragement. In retrospect, he knows he was messed up as a child, as a result of his father’s death. During those painful times, he had no clue of the way his life was going and stuffed all the pain and hurt deep inside himself with no one to talk to about what he was going through. For a long time, he didn't even know himself, but he could see now that God was preparing him. Now with such clarity, he sees himself in his son who is sort of doing what he use to do but at a much earlier stage in life. Jones knows that he had to get clean and straighten up to be a better example for his son in order to keep his son from going down that same path. Saving Souls Today, One Day At a Time. What More Can I Say
By Marion Jones
I’ve talked about your beauty,
You wear it well, not acting too high and mighty or loosely
I’ve talked about your sexiness,
I’ve talked about the gentleness of your kiss
Your heart skips a beat every time you think of them
Your mind takes you places you don’t dare to mention, but it’s deep within
Walking hand in hand, staring into each others eyes
Like being on Cloud 9 in the blue skies
I write about the way you walk when you come into a room
The smiles on every mans face, mmm it’s in full bloom
You have style, elegant, grace and have so much class
God made you just right, not all in the shape of an hourglass
The Love I have My Black Sisters today is unconditional Love.
There’s nothing like them, their spirit and strength to hold onto God above
They are the backbone of the men that they stand by in some bad situations
That’s only because they know a Man that can fix anything, even relations
I write like this to hope that other men would see that they are precious, they were given to us to cherish by God
Time to do what’s right in the eyes of the Lord, when you make a vow you don’t break it.
There are consequences

A Story to Tell
Boy, do I have a story to tell. I struggle with the devil everyday and he tries to knock me out, as if we were boxing ring. I may fall to my knees or flat on my face, I get right back up and say; “I don’t hear a bell.”
Many times, he put me on a stretcher, bandaged from head to toe. Down for the count, Devil would go from 1-10, and the winner is. I lost my soul again, he smiles and says; “I am his.”
When you the get the Lord in your corner, did you hear what I just said, when you get the Lord in your corner. Thank you Lord, thank you Lord, thank you for grace and mercy. I am able to stand tall, with my head held high. I once was blind, but now I see.
The story never changes, just the faces do. I am letting you know the world is ever changing, but God’s Love remains the same even for you. You are not a mistake. Be glad you are alive; no longer do you want be counted as knockout or taking dives.
I am going to shout about the goodness of the Lord. I just cannot keep it to myself; I was not save to be quiet. I love Him, I need Him, and He is Lord.
Did you hear a bell?
It is time to knock the devil out.
I told you I had A Story to Tell.

Time to Come Out of Lo De’ Bar…
Poem by Marion Jones
Sermon title by Pastor Aaron James
In this place, you just have church folks, people who claim to be one thing and are another.
Drinking and dancing on Saturday night, but on Sunday morning can’t get out of bed to come to church with the others.
Sometimes you forget where you are at and let your guard down, the real you show up.
You know the one that likes to act like thugs/harlots in the street and cuss.
Church folks
You wonder why you’re going through what you’re going through.
Always can’t blame it on the devil for the things that you do.
Children learn their behaviors; mock the parents who act loose and wild.
Then come into church asking for prayer when their family in trouble with the law, on drugs, pregnant, another out of control lost child.
Our church folks
Putting on a front while you around the saints like you all that, the Pastor is about to set your soul on fire and make you lean back.
Jumping up and down, putting on a show for everyone to see.
Looking around to see who looking at you, God knows who walk is real and He’s not pleased.
Come out from those people and sit at the table that God has prepared for you.
He’s calling us all one by one, to live holy, righteous and to Him be true.
…Why?
It’s time
For everyone who is ready and able, you are being called by the King to come to the table.

Right Here Right Now
Right Here
These are the last days when everyone will have to answer for his or her wrong.
Your time could be up today, tomorrow, this second, it won’t be long.
I want to be in that number with the elders praising His name.
With others saints God, all doing the same
We don’t have time to do what the world wants us to do.
Right Now
It’s time for us to be that peculiar folks, let everyone know that Jesus is the way and have Him in you.
To be able to stand tall no matter what.
With no ifs, ands, or buts.
We have churches splitting up one after right another, because they don’t want to hear the truth.
Stop the madness that’s supposed to our refuge and a place to teach God’s word to our youth.
The next generation
We have some fly by night ministers opening up churches, forgetting it’s about saving souls, only to see how much the church can really hold.
Then they can brag on their fancy cars, big paydays, and bankrolls.
Ouch! Did that hurt?
Just tell it like it is
Let the Lord lead you in all that you do for Him.
If you trip, stumble or fall, get up and repent for your sins.
With God on our side, we shall have no fear.
Get it right with God, and the time is …

I Admit
That I have my shortcoming
Sometimes I don’t do the all the things You tell me to do
That there are days when I don’t give You the praise and the glory
I admit that I’m not, but You are
Worthy
You brought me out of the wilderness
You gave me a second chance to get it right
My children and family today seen the transformation of Your work in me
I admit I’m not, but You are
Faithful
To serve You with every breath in my body
To do all I can to help someone else that was like me
To saving souls today, one day at a time
I Admit I’m not, but You are
Sovereign

Take Your Place
We have to make a stand for what’s right.
Making all the right choices in life,
not being afraid to stand or fight.
Men stand up be fathers.
Stop making excuses and Take Your Place.
Women be not girlfriends be mothers.
Stop taking the easy way out and Take Your Place.
Stop with failed marriages, same sex relationships,
just plain whatever. It’s time to…
Take Your Place.
It doesn’t stop after you leave church and you go home.
It doesn’t stop even when you are alone.
You have to know that you know and who’s you are.
Where we have to travel and how far.
We do what is ask of us at any given time.
For the Lord, is my Shepard and I shall not want.
Saying that I know I’m In good hands, I’m fine. It’s time to…
It’s that time.
Tomorrow not promised to you,
Now is the time to…
