Chris and Matt are back to talk baseball, and the have a special guest. To start the show, the guys talk about the promotion of Yoan Moncada by the Boston Red Sox and what this means for the Red Sox. Once again, the Diamondbacks are in the news and this time it's a weird one. The Dodgers tried to re-acquire Zack Greinke before the September 1st deadline. Arizona said, without heistation, that they weren't moving Greinke now or in the foreseeable future. Is this a smart call by the Diamondbacks front office? Does it mean a whole lot? Then, Trivia Tuesdays on Thursdays returned and the topic was Michael Jordan, off the heels of Tim Tebow's baseball workout. For their guest this week, Chris and Matt are joined by Evan Davis of Beyond the Box Score to talk about their new podcast, and the American League Wild Card race.  Key timestamps: :56- Yoan Moncada promotion 6:54- Diamondbacks asked about Greinke by Dodgers 15:09- Trivia Tuesdays on Thursdays 19:50- Evan Davis joins the program 23:34- AL Wild Card talk As always, follow the show @MLBDailyDish. The Dodgers acquired catcher Carlos Ruiz from the Phillies and got rid of their own catcher, AJ Ellis in the deal. Ellis and ace pitcher Clayton Kershaw had quite the history together, making this move a little odd. The guys break it down, and talk about the impact it could have on the team. Then they switch gears, and talked about the Arizona Diamondbacks and the swirling rumors around their front office. Both guys feel that change may be in order, but having a plan and sticking to it is best for the long-term future of the D-Backs. To close the show, Trivia Tuesdays on Thursdays returned and Matt went a perfect 5/5 and even got a bonus point. Then they talked about Gary Sanchez and the Yankees. It's been quite the week since Chris and Matt last brought you some baseball audio, with a lot of trades happening. Luckily for you, both guys are back this week to breakdown everything that happened, and talk about the aftermath of the frenzy that is the MLB trade deadline. They start by talking about what the Dodgers did, from trading for Josh Reddick and Rich Hill to demoting Yasiel Puig to Triple-A. Then they get into some of the bigger trades, like the Giants trading for Matt Moore.  If we are talking about winners from the deadline, the Rangers would have been at the top of the list, after getting both Carlos Beltran and Jonathan Lucroy. Matt and Chris talk about that, and give credit to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman for his work at the deadline. And to close the show, not on purpose, the guys breakdown the Mets rather odd acquisition of outfielder Jay Bruce. It's a jam-packed episode with a lot of information and context to all of these deals. Key timestamps: :41- Overview of the deadline 4:08- Dodgers acquire Josh Reddick/Rich Hill 7:06- Dodgers demote Puig 9:31- Giants trade for Matt Moore 16:29- Rangers win the day 19:32- The job that Brian Cashman did 25:04- Mets get Jay Bruce You can follow the show @MLBDailyDish and follow the hosts @TheOriginalBull and @ChrisRSchubert. 00:43:00MLBDD The RosterbatoricalnoMLB,MLB trade deadlineChris and Matt talk about all the aftermath of the MLB trade deadlineTrade deadline preview edition with Chris Cotillohttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/mlbdailydish/2016/07/27/trade-deadline-preview-edition-with-chris-cotilloBaseballhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/mlbdailydish/2016/07/27/trade-deadline-preview-edition-with-chris-cotillo/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/mlbdailydish/2016/07/27/trade-deadline-preview-edition-with-chris-cotilloWed, 27 Jul 2016 11:00:00 GMTTrade deadline preview edition with Chris CotilloHello baseball fans, and welcome back to another edition of the Rosterbatorical, the official MLB Daily Dish podcast. It's Hug Watch week, and that means trades could come at any moment. Chris and Matt could have done a good job previewing the deadline on their own, but they want this episode to be filled with all the latest and greatest information. So they called in MLB Daily Dish's insider, Chris Cotillo.  The second Chris joins the team to talk about everything, from the Aroldis Chapman trade to whether or not Chris Sale could get traded. The Dodgers are a topic of conversation, as they are one of the more interesting teams to watch as the trade deadline gets closer.  With it being so slow at this stage, the guys try to talk about players that could get the ball rolling and what we can expect between now and Monday. Chris had to delay the recording of the show on Tuesday, and it ended up being a good thing he did. A bunch of major news and rumors came out on Wednesday, all of which would have made a Tuesday show very outdated. The Cubs made their first move of the trade season, and it wasn't for Andrew Miller or Aroldis Chapman. Instead, they acquired Mike Montgomery from the Mariners as part of a 4-player deal that sent hitting prospect Dan Vogelbach back to Seattle. The guys talk about that, and the chances that the Cubs are still in play for Miller/Chapman.  It was very rainy over Dodgers Stadium in terms of bad news, with Alex Wood being down for the next eight weeks after a procedure on his elbow. It got worse when news broke that ace Clayton Kershaw could need back surgery, putting the rest of his season in question. Should the Dodgers still be looking for that 'impact move' that they are rumored to be searching for? And finally, a rumor surfaced that the Brewers and Indians were discussing a deal that would send catcher Jonathan Lucroy to Cleveland. Is that really what the Indians need to target at the deadline? Chris and Matt have differing opinions on this.  All the news gets covered, and there is even some trivia.  Key timestamps: :36- Cubs make a trade 9:25- Dodgers bad news 17:50- Trivia’s on Wednesdays 22:35- Indians linked to Lucroy You can follow the show @MLBDailyDish and follow the hosts @TheOriginalBull and @ChrisRSchubert. 00:33:00MLBDD The Rosterbatoricalnobaseball,MLB,Dodgers,Clayton Kershaw,CubsChris and Matt picked a great day to record, with a bunch of news coming out on Wednesday.All-Star Break show and Jenrry Mejia suing MLBhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/mlbdailydish/2016/07/13/all-star-break-show-and-jenrry-mejia-suing-mlbBaseballhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/mlbdailydish/2016/07/13/all-star-break-show-and-jenrry-mejia-suing-mlb/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/mlbdailydish/2016/07/13/all-star-break-show-and-jenrry-mejia-suing-mlbWed, 13 Jul 2016 14:00:00 GMTAll-Star Break show and Jenrry Mejia suing MLBHello baseball fans, and welcome back to another edition of The Rosterbatorical, the official MLB Daily Dish podcast.
