I believe in fate and destiny, but I don't necessarily believe that everything is predetermined. I believe that everything happens for a reason, but I also believe that we all have choices. Each choice that we make and each action that we take can have a major impact on the rest of our lives, and the lives of those around us. These choices can effect the future, or even history depending on how you look at it. A friendly smile or a wave in response to an obscene gesture for instance, could change the whole demeanor of that person or someone else watching. As a result, it could lead to a chain of events that changes the course of history. The craziest part is that we will only know what does happen as a result, and not what could have happened. Even though I talk a lot of mad- for whatever reason, this philosophy is always etched into the back of my mind and I think about it always.
