"Me+You" & "Being Biracial": Anna Bowen Explores Identity & Relationships

On Today’s episode of Mixed Race Radio, we will meet Anna Bowen, a biracial actor, singer, and writer who has worked professionally for the past fifteen years. She is the author of “Me+You: Love & Other Various Emotions,” a non-fiction book of interviews that was published in March of this year.

In “Me+You,” Anna interviewed 21 different couples from all over the country. "Me+You" is a compilation of these heartfelt interviews and gives a voice to couples ranging from thirty to eighty-seven years old about their love, commitment, hardships and why they decided to spend their lives together.

Anna is currently interviewing people for her next book: “Being Biracial.” She is interviewing biracial people of all races and ages about their identity. “Being Biracial” will attempt to discover how biracial people identify themselves in a society that tries to pigeonhole them to one specific race.

As a performer, Anna has toured the United States and Europe, working with legends such as Patti Labelle, Nile Rogers, Dionne Warwick, Tom Jones, Slash and Mickey Dolenz. She has been seen on television in “Mixology,” "Law and Order", "As The World Turns" and "Castle." She can be seen around Los Angeles singing with the "Overstreets New Orleans Jazz Band" and at Rockwell Table and Stage performing in the "For The Record" concert series.
