There was a young man 15 or 16 who used to attend our church.  He was always looking down and most of the time he was very angry about something.  I would always say to him, lift your head up.  Look up.  Look people in the eye.  There's one more thing I wish I had said to him as well.  Be sure you lift your eyes high enough so that you see by faith the great God who cares for you.  The ten spies who were sent to the land of Canaan did not look high enough:  they saw the giants and the walls but not the Lord far above all.  When things on earth seem too big for us to handle, we must lift our eyes to God.  He is able.
