MiniVan Mafia
United States, English
Minivan Mafia is out of control, crashing into the music scene with great material, a hot sound, an energetic show and an unnecessary angst toward mini vans. Front men Rick Clausen (lead guitar, vocals, keyboard sequencing) and Bob Demoya (bass, rhythm and acoustic guitars, vocals) make an outstanding writing/performing team drawing on each others years of musical strength and know how. Rick is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist with guitar and drums as his most fluent languages. His guitar sound is huge, distinct and immediately recognizable, his abilities are ferocious as evidenced by the song "Au Gratin", his vocal tone is reminiscent of Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and world class vocalist Bobby Kimball. Bob is a powerhouse songwriter/guitarist, his unique vocal sound is strong and instantly recognizable, his words are gritty and life-like, his stage presence is magnetic. Bob brings an edge to the group as heard in their new release "Reality". Combined their music is powerful and authoritative with hints of punk, progressive hard rock and metal, their lyrics, like a diary, are poignant and heartfelt. "These are the stories of our lives" states Rick. "Life itself is a never ending source of situations and occurrences to write about. Life goes on and the songs keep coming". Recently, the two have added veteran Randy Walker (Wang Chung) on drums to their current line up forming one hot power trio.
