Mike Wendland is America's premier high tech reporter and convergence editor. His television work has appeared on various NBC and cable television network stations across the country. He spent 10 years as the Technbology and Video Columnst for The Detroit Free Press, 18 years as head of the I-Team investigative unit at WDIV-TV in Detroit and before that worked for ten years as an investigative reporter at The Detroit News.
He's one of the country's leading experts in using the Internet for research and information-gathering and teaches seminars all over the world to corporations and civic, religious and professional organizations. He spent three weeks in Israel, Jordan, Bahrain and Egypt teaching journalists the Internet in a trip sponsored by the U.S. State Department.
He is a Fellow at the Poynter Institute, a prestigious school for journalists in St. Petersburg, FL., where he often teaches convergence reporting and new media.
And he is a pastor and part of the teaching team at Woodside Bible Church, which has four campuses throughout Oakland County, Michigan. He is also Executive Editor of the Woodside News, a monthly 36-page newspaper of Christian news and information, and a member of the Evangelical Press Association.
Mike and his wife Jennifer have three grown children and six grandchildren. They have been residents of Oakland Township for 15 years.
