This show is Part 2 of a 4 Part series titled: Friends, Foes, and Fellow Christians. God created us for relationship. We were created to have a relationship with Him and to have a relationship with fellow believers. God created us to be connected to one another. It is in this connection we find a sense of belonging, acceptance, closeness, and commitment. Unfortunately, there are times when people feel disconnected from others which can lead to isolation and loneliness. During these times of life the desire to connect becomes strong and at times overwhelming. People begin connecting themselves to anyone who will accept them or let them into a group. These connections usually lead to superficial acquaintances resulting in betrayal, hurts, and abandonment. There are several negative relationships that will cause a believer emotional and spiritual distress. These relationships can hinder the believer’s spiritual walk. They are called “toxic relationships.” Toxic relationships don’t work – they hurt and sometimes destroy. I will discuss being “unequally yoked,” and “emotional and spiritual blackmailers.” If you have a fear of being rejected, a need for acceptance or seeking approval, or you compensate your loneliness with “any” relationship - this show is for you!
