  NADIRA NORJAHAN: The Next Philly Soul Sensation! Nadira is a vocalist, songwriter and poet from Philadelphia, PA. She has been singing since she was very young. Nadira writes songs and hooks in inspirational, soul and hip-hop genres and also writes and performs spoken word. She has written several hooks for a signed artist in Japan and Europe and has performed for several organizations as well as the City of Philadelphia. Nadira has been performing in the Tri-State area as a vocalist and spoken word artist and is highly regarded by her fans. The development of her unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Her mother was a contemporary gospel singer for many years with a traveling and recording choir and would take Nadira to rehearsals and on trips. The choir director was so impressed with her soprano voice that she was asked to perform Handel’s Messiah at the age of thirteen. Nadira has been instructed by vocal instructors Owen Brown and Sherry Butler, both world renown and accomplished musicians. She also cultivated her spoken word talents with advice from her dear friends Damali and Vision of Quiet Rage, a successful recording spoken word duo, also from the Philadelphia area. Her much anticipated EP album “The Storyteller” is due to be released in the summer of 2009. The album features producers Damon Bennett, Richard Tucker, Michael “Bump” Fountain of Fountain Entertainment, James Whitescarver of BlixYZ Studios and Christopher Odom. With this kamikaze of talent behind her, the album promises to be a success!
