  MICKEETA ALLEN This woman is honestly the first person to claim to have sang before she spoke her first words. "Singing is much more natural to me, than speaking", states Ms. Allen. Ever since the tender age of four, Mickeeta Allen has always embodied an insatiable desire of music. Born and raised in Battle Creek, MI, she began singing solos in church, later joining several groups and choirs. Choirs including the Lamora Park Young Adult Choir; who has recorded 2 studio albums, which were a huge success on the east coast. She also has been a part of gospel groups Friends, and Voices of Paradise; which she co-wrote the group's first single. Ms. Allen's experiences with these groups have led her to share the stage with some of gospel's greatest artists including, Donnie MCclurkin, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Dorothy Norwood, and more. In her teens, Mickeeta decided to branch out and try other genres of music besides gospel. In 2005 Ms. Allen was determined to become the next American Idol and auditioned in Chicago. She quickly found that the show is not all they portray it to be. Like other artists rejected by A.I. Jennifer Hudson, and Chris Daughtry, Mickeeta used the opportunity to write, arrange, and record her very own album. Her debut album is titled The Truth: A Journey Through Time. She has received very high compliments form those who have purchased the album, and/or saw her perform. Ms. Allen has recently relocated to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, which she feels is a better location to get her music out to the world. She is definitely an artist to watch. Her style has long been compared to the likes of artists Faith Evans, Jill Scott, India.Arie, Mary J Blige, Kelly Price, and Yolanda Adams.
