Mindful (recovery) awareness:
Mindfulness stimulates new neural pathways that in turn generate healther consciousness. Mindfulness is an innate capacity of the mind to be aware of the present moment in a non-judgmental way.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will live through this day only. I will ping back to present whever my mind drifts into either the past or the future.
JUST FOR TODAY I know that I can do something for 24 hours that would overwhelm me if I had to keep it up for a lifetime. 
JUST FOR TODAY, I will be happy. Happiness is a choice. My body listens to my thinking. 
JUST FOR TODAY, I will accept what is. 
JUST FOR TODAY, I will improve my mind. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration. I will not be a mental loafer. 
JUST FOR TODAY, I will make a conscious effort to be aggreable. I will be kind and courteous to those who cross my path, and I'll not speak ill of others. 
JUST FOR TODAY, I will refrain from improving anybody but myself. 
JUST FOR TODAY, I will do something positive to improve my overall health. What I eat today walks and talks tomorrow. I will nurture my spirit by awareness of any negative habits and doing something positive instead. 
JUST FOR TODAY, I will gather the courage to do what is right and take responsibility for my own actions.

JUST FOR TODAY, I will be patient, poised and pause to engage in life.
