New author G.A. Johnson and Nefertari Imani Baraka are trying to put you to bed!
A few months ago I reviewed Tari's (what she prefers to be called) literary debut Ghetto Lullabies. Which is a urban poetry book with very good structure and laid back vibe; and while pieces like Him and Your Gift aluded to the existence of a sensual arsenal in her pen awaiting release I would never have expected this. This new book sets a standard for the genre.
Teaming up with new debut author G.A. Johnson who is going to put Orangeburg on the map; this book is an erotic journey into the thoughts and fantasies most of us don't admitt to having. What I like the most about this book is how tastefully it is presented; from the cover which in its simplicity leaves you to wonder what is to come to the audio compiled to accompany it. The book has an earthiness to it in that the stories in it are believable. Some of them are short stories, some a little longer, and there is even some poetry. Tari said," These are stories to be shared by couples during those quite times when the kids are asleep or better yet visiting grandma. I knew I wanted to work on this project when one night up in Helen, Georgia (hint, hint) I began reading Seven Night Stand to my "Neo" and he told me it was one of the most sensual things to him. Just reading that little bit of almost erotica to him let us share an intimacy not all couples get to experience but hopefully through the pages of this book they will." I would compare these two authors on this work to Eric Jerome Dickey and Zane.
