Michael Allison

Michael is a grad student at Royal Roads University in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia where he is finishing a Master of Arts degree in professional communication. His areas of interest include marketing, social media, public relations, and crisis management. As a part-time marketing assistant at Cannon Design Architecture Inc., Michael strategizes with project architects, officers, and corporate leadership in responding to RFPs and creating proposals for multi-million dollar projects. He is also experienced with Quark, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Deltek CRM database. Prior to joining Cannon Design, Michael taught English in Nagoya, Japan at Tokai Gakuen high school where he created and taught a Grade 11 curriculum for over 300 students. In 2003, Michael worked on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for Opposition MP Betty Hinton and graduated from the University of Victoria in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Most recently, Michael has been freelancing for Manhattan social media marketing firm Converseon. He is a member of the IABC and CPRS and will be done his MA in July, 2008.
