Dr. Ino Halegua, former Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at South Miami Hospital and Chief of Medicine at Larkin Hospital, was born in Greece on December 28, 1947. After moving to New York with his family in 1950, he graduated Cum Laude from the medical school at State University of New York Downstate Medical Campus and completed his medical internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

In August 1976, Ino opened his own medical practice here in Miami, and built The Cardiology Center in 1982 to serve the business community’s medical needs. He moved his office within Prime Care of Coral Gables following a 2008 downsize. Ino is particularly focused on preventative medicine and cardiology, and strives to meet the needs of his busy patients by scheduling timely appointments no matter what the exam may be.  Ino most frequently uses the South Miami and Baptist hospitals; he is a member of the Florida Society of Internal Medicine, American Medical Association, American Heart Association of Greater Miami, and the Florida Medical Association.

Ino is, not surprisingly, highly active within the community as well: not only is he affiliated with both the Miami Beach and Coral Gables Chambers of Commerce, but he also sits on the Hearing Research Institute’s Board of Directors. He sponsors countless charity organizations and events as well, such as Miami Project, Best Buddies, Make-A-Wish, Miami Beach Education Foundation, and more. When he is not busy saving the world from heart ailments, he can be found fishing, golfing, traveling or pursuing real estate projects with his daughter Oren and son Scott.
