"Israel Sands was born in Cuba and came to Miami in 1961. He has a Bachelor's in Psychology, 1974 ;  and a J.D. degree from the University of Miami, 1978.  He passed the FL Bar in 1979.  He spent the next 11 years working with his dad importing shoes from the Far East and exporting to the Caribbean Islands.  He also spent time doing immigration law in Paris during those years.  He returned to Miami Beach part time and was a South Beach pioneer with his well-known store on Lincoln Road until 2000. He then worked as an event planner, and had a TV show for MGM Latin America Networks.

He started the LL.M. program in Estate Planning at the UofMiami in 2009 and graduated in 2011.  While in school he interned with Jerry Chasen, one of Miami's best estate planning attorneys.  He brings real life business experience and an appreciation for personal entanglements to his sunny office in South Beach, but is glad to meet clients at their home or office."
