Tropicool Art & Entertainment

Miami Beach, like beauty, is the in eye of the beholder. Some see hotels, resorts and beaches, while others see restaurants and nightclubs. Some dive below the surface of the ocean, while others seek art, dance and opera. If there is an art to tourism, then Miami Beach is the curator. Remix and evolve. Take a walk on the artistic side - galleries and gallery walks, classical music, modern dance, exciting entertainment. From the Miami Design and Wynwood Art Districts to the "on the edge-of-the-ocean" vibe of South Beach, Miami Beach moves to a tropicool rhythm of its own.

Coral Gables Opera - American Ideal V: Operatunity Rocks

At 10 AM on Friday, April 17th, 2009, the Coral Gables Opera company will present several classical music selections as part of the American Ideal series. The fifth edition of this free concert program is a showcase of young and established musicians performing for more than 600 Miami-Dade County school children in the acoustically designed 1st United Methodist Church of South Miami.

According to Bella Griffith-Smith, founder and artistic director of the Coral Gables Opera and Chamber Symphony, this event is significant because hundreds of inner-city children are introduced to classical music for the first time.

Performers include: Matthew and Jonathan Reichenberger (piano), Victoria Sassrainer (piano), Terrance Smith (violin), Anna Litvinenko (cello),  Maria Rodriguez (soprano), Gibson Dorce (bass-baritone), Lievens Castillo (tenor), Jean Quinn (soprano) and Samuel Eudovique (dramatic tenor).

For more information, check out: CoralGablesOpera.com.

This BTR program is produced and hosted by Ken English, the BlogTalkRadioGuy, for Coral Gables Opera and the Social Radio Network.
