Tropicool Art & Entertainment

Miami Beach, like beauty, is the in eye of the beholder. Some see hotels, resorts and beaches, while others see restaurants and nightclubs. Some dive below the surface of the ocean, while others seek art, dance and opera. If there is an art to tourism, then Miami Beach is the curator. Remix and evolve. Take a walk on the artistic side - galleries and gallery walks, classical music, modern dance, exciting entertainment. From the Miami Design and Wynwood Art Districts to the "on the edge-of-the-ocean" vibe of South Beach, Miami Beach moves to a tropicool rhythm of its own.

    Date / Time:

Wynwood Arts District - 13 December 2008: Gallery Walk

The second Saturday of each month, the galleries in the Wynwood Arts District, along with those in the Miami Design District, provide a social setting for people who are interested in contemporary art and sculpture.

This show is a walking tour that begins with Perry Milou, owner and principle artist at the Milou Gallery and ends with a brief interview with Lenore Stern-Morris, an art consultant who happened to be at the Lurie-Kavachnina Gallery.

In between, I was joined be Mamushka, the owner of the only Arts Cafe and Club in Wynwood, who walked with me to Icon Art Studios to see an exhibit of Mohamed Ali paintings and meet Dr. Freddie Pachenco. While there, we spent a few minutes with Erika King, a well-known sports collage artist.

The show, produced by Ken English, the BlogTalkRadioGuy, was recorded live, so please forgive any audio inconsistancies. We were testing the idea.
