Some dive below the surface of the ocean, while others seek art, dance and opera. If there is an art to tourism, then Miami Beach is the curator. Remix and evolve. Take a walk on the artistic side - galleries and gallery walks, classical music, modern dance, exciting entertainment. From the Miami Design and Wynwood Art Districts to the "on the edge-of-the-ocean" vibe of South Beach, Miami Beach moves to a tropicool rhythm of its own.

    Today's show will include updates on a couple of the Miami art galleries as they prepare for the monthly showcase called Gallery Walk.

    Art Fusion Gallery, Steve Martin Gallery, Miami Art Gallery and several others in the Miami Design District all have new shows for the Month of May.

    Over in the Wynwood Art District, Jakmel Art Gallery, Albertini Fine Art, Elite Art Editions and Art Rouge, join with Mamushka, Barbara Steimbaum and Dot 51 to encourage people to walk along 36 Street.
     
    The Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach continues to promote its EcoArt Gallery project, an innovative program to wrap the tops of 204 trash cans that are on the sand with art submitted by more than 60 artists. The cost of doing so, however, must be covered by sponsors, so ECOMB has dedicated all proceeds above the cost to the beach clean-up effort.

    Today's show will preview the next Gallery Night in the Miami Design District and discuss an innovative use of art on Miami Beach to call attention to the water, and the importance of keeping the beach clean.

    William Braemer, manager of the Art Fusion Gallery - www.artfusiongallery.com - in the Miami Design District will talk about the artists on display for May and a little about his own art, including his tribute to the endangered species of the ocean - Serena, the mermaid.

    Artist Jacklyn LaFlamme will talk about her art, including the work she has submitted to the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach's EcoArt Gallery project - www.ecomb.org/ecoart.html.

    Other artists in the Miami area have been invited to call in, so we'll see who does.

    Miami Art Online is part of the BlueGreen Network, which includes Pocono Preview at 1 PM on Tuesday - www.poconopreview.com - and Liquid Lounge at 1 PM on Wednesday - www.oceanrealmonline.com.  A fourth show, Caribbean Perspective with Eddie Edwards - www.caribbeanperspective.com - will debut later this month.
