Celebrating Pride Month and the strength of the immigrant communities in Queens, Flushing Town Hall and Terraza 7 Café today announced its LGBTQ-themed concert - featuring Queens performers - at Flushing Town Hall on Saturday, June 21. I will be interviewing these performers.

Brad Bradley – A Jackson Heights resident, Brad is an accomplished Broadway performer who has appeared in Spamalot, People in the Picture, Annie Get Your Gun, Thou Shalt Not, Steel Pier, and Billy Elliott

Nadia Bourne - A Queens-based singer, songwriter and musician, activist, and a college student at St. John's University, she will perform “original work about love, life, and revolution.”

Londel Collier  - Born in South Jamaica, Londel, 22, was raised in South Carolina but later returned to live in South Jamaica and Flushing. Known as "KenJi", he attends Five Towns College as a Theater Major and performs rhythm and blues.

Timothy Mathis – An award-winning songwriter and playwright who lives in Astoria, Queens, Timothy authored the musical Sylvia So Far, celebrating the life of Stonewall veteran and transgender pioneer Sylvia Rivera. The show premiered in 2007 at La Mama in New York City and has since received multiple productions.

The two-set lineup includes headlining performer Mahina Movement, a trinity of women based in New York City. (Mahina is taken from the Tongan word for “moon” and from the Spanish word “imagine.”)
