We heard some of you loud and clear! Instead of doing the last show from the Month of Money series, for the next two weeks, we will re-air two shows on being PREPARED for a disaster.
After the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, TX and surrounding plus the inevitable damage of Hurricane Irma (with Hurricanes Jose and Katia hot on Irma's heels), we agree that airing these preparedness shows might help some of you in the path of a hurricane that has not yet reached you.
As of right now, Irma is the first category five (cat 5) hurricane to hit the U.S., it is the first to register on the scales used to measure earthquakes, and even worse, it is getting stronger. If you are days away from Irma and haven't prepared because you do not know where to start, please listen to tonight's show. In order to be prepared for future disasters, please also listen to next week's show. It will be part 2 of tonight's show.
Tonight, join hosts Alex Primo and Asha Zuri as we talk about being prepared. Learn about concrete alternatives to focus on that are action oriented and will benefit you, no matter what's to come; self sufficiency and prepping. They include (urban) gardening, stocking supplies, bushcraft, self defense, working with others, and more.
We will be joined by three guests: a husband & wife team that also prep with their children, the Baileys and a well known urban agriculturalist, Kwabena Nkromo of Atlanta Food & Farm PBC.
