Poverty & Crime in Black America: What You Need to Know
Join Alex Primo and Asha Zuri Thursday February 9, 2017 at 9 pm EST as we discuss, dissect, and debate the causes of poverty and crime in Black America. We will explore the fact that Black unemployment has been at least double that of whites in 47 of the last 54 years. We'll look at how college education does not remove the income gap between Blacks and whites. Not to mention the fact that Black net worth is a mere fraction of white net worth. Can you say 13 times less wealthy on average? Do you think these numbers might affect crime? Think of it this way, if less money causes stress, wouldn't poverty create stress on a relationship as well as a community? This pressure might cause relationships to crumble. Leaving children without the proper guidance from both parents which leads to less discipline. All of which makes our youth easier targets for the unscrupulous and immoral. Let's get down to business. Tune in and share your thoughts.
