My skin my complex-A deeper look into discrimination within the black community: Too often violence and poverty or the only problems that are addressed but are not nearly the only issues plaguing our community. African-Americans are discriminating against each other, pitting those with lighter skin against ones whose skin is darker. Unlike other forms of injustice, colorism is something that's rarely publicly addressed, even though it happens almost daily. In a world dominated by white supremacy we've all been subjected to European beauty standards; The more European you look, the more revered you are. Dividing each other by class though we live in the same neighborhood because of materialistic things that some of us may not be able to afford, too often we think these things signify a higher class in the black community though it does not. The "willie lynch syndrome" was ment to last for generations, and so far has done damn good job of it, if we don't stop it now we will be consumed by it. Join your hosts Jeremy, Jesse and schelett as they discuss the effects of the willie lynch syndrome, how it effects our community today and how to combat it.
