Are Crime Statistics Reliable?
We all use them when reporting on police brutality or the Black condition in general. But do we really know how accurate this information is? It doesn't help that one of the most quoted sources tells you up front that all information is submitted voluntarily. That's right, fbi.gov makes it very clear that "Figures used in this Report were submitted voluntarily by law enforcement agencies throughout the country." So, the people that we don't trust are the same people who we are trusting to supply us with factual and accurate data regarding police behavior? Adding insult to injury, there are even accusations of police departments manufacturing misleading stats. You don't want to miss this show brothers and sisters.
Join Alex Primo and Asha Zuri Thursday October 22 at 9 PM EST as we examine crime stats, police data, and their accuracy and veracity.
And don't forget the brother Dennis Jefferson will be stopping by with another episode of Healthy Matters.
