    Please join me as I host a new event at Enclaves Gallery in South Philadelphia...we have some amazing performers/poets scheduled to perform...Adam Meora....
     
     
    May 21st 7pm a fundraiser for Rubye's Kids- an organization dedicated to helping underprivelegd Philadelphia children...recently built a library/computer lab in a local shelter.
     
    Come see the Art of artists from the DaVinci Alliance

    The Enclaves is located in South Philadelphia, at the Intersection of Penrose and Pattison Avenues, at 3900 Gateway Drive.  The alternative address, which is the one Google Maps still seems to use, is 2900 Sheaff Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19145.
    The performers


    Rick Szybowski is a composer, guitar player, pianist and music educator who swears he was a drummer in a past life.  His music has the power to heal and it has been said that listening to a half-hour set is enough to cure people suffering from extreme bouts of insomnia. 
     
    Jen Kramny is a teacher at Dobbins Tech School, and she just earned her Masters Degree in Humanities from Arcadia University.  She has been writing poetry for a few years, but just recently started sharing them.
     
    Joshua Skinner is a singer, songwriter, and realist who lives reclusively in an abandoned convent where he hopes to grow Tolstoy's beard.

    As a romantic, he has written poetry as a method of healing, self love and to express his inner thoughts and feelings.     Yolanda Wisher
    Born in     Germantown and raised in North Wales, Pennsylvania, Wisher
    received a B.A. in English/Black Studies from     Lafayette College and a M.A.
    in Creative Writing/Poetry from     Temple University.  In
    1999, she was named the first poet laureate of     Montgomery County. Her
    work has been published in the journals Ploughshares, Meridians, Fence,
    nocturnes, and Chain as well as the anthologies Gathering
    Ground and The Ringing Ear: Black Poets Lean South.  A Cave Canem
    fellow, Wisher teaches at     Germantown Friends School and chairs the
    Germantown Poetry Festival.

    Tamara Oakman won the Judith Stark Prize in poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and playwriting. She has been published in The Literary Garland, Limited Editions, Hyphen, and The Crucible. She won Judith Stark Prize in the categories of poetry, short creative non-fiction, short fiction, and playwriting.  She was also the organizer of the Light of Unity Festival.
     
    Adam Meora is the loving husband of Sonya Meora.
    He is the curator of the Blam series at the Set Table.  He has been a featured poet at the Tin Angel, Robin's, for Mad Poets, and at the Fox Theater in Boulder CO.  He has been published recently in The Fridge Door, The Bathroom, Om Shanghai Radiator, HiNge Online, and Mad Poets Journal.  He also recently published his chapbook Slipping Inside Faith.  His mission is to connect cutting edge poets to community service and other forms of integrated arts.
     
    Gabrielle Casella aka Dragoness is a choreographer, dancer, director & performance poetess. She has been writing poetry since childhood and began performing her written poetry as performance art while earning her undergraduate degree in theatre from Temple University. Her stage presence and poetic style has been highly praised at open mic venues locally and abroad. Casella’s work has been featured at "Hip-hop to Da’ Head" at the Painted Bride, in the Philly Fringe Festival, the Women’s Fest at the World Café and Poet-tree In Motion at the Rotunda, as well as international venues such as the Global Roots Festival, the Om Festival, and Chicks Dig It in Toronto, Ontario.
