    Getting m ABC card.

    Hi all!
    Well, I was laid off last Friday, so I find myself with 2 degrees and out of work so I am going to the class you have to take to get your ABC card this Thursday so no show! :(
    I remember "back in the day" when you just served a customer a beer because you were old enough. So, even though it is going to cost me $57 to do this, it will be interesting on what in the world this class offers to serve a beer or a 7-7!

Well, the ABC card is mandatory in the state of TN since 1995. All it is is a class of common sense....they charge you $57 and the card is good for 5 years. You have to have this in order to work in ANY restaurant that serves any kind of booze. It is just money for the state............What is WIA?

Don;t know what an ABC card is, but sorry to hear about the layoff! Listen to my show DAY JOBS here for tips. People down there really need to have me come and speak with the "Working Smarter" seminar. Especially artists! I am still waiting since July 2nd to hear about the WIA funding for MY career. This makes plans change constantly and keeps me shaking my head. Oh, they wouldn't hire me because I had no bartending experience yrs ago. My question "Everybody has to get that first job, how else do you GET experience" ?
