Teresa Schroeder turned tragedy into a transcendental experience, taking her from the beaches of Hawaii to the jungles of Peru. Teresa sustained a quadriplegic spinal cord injury while snowboarding at the age of 21. Fracturing her 3rd through 5th cervical vertebrae she was immediately paralyzed from the neck down, and her ability to breathe was impaired. After three years of an exhausting cycle in rehabilitation facilities, surgical consultations and medical experiences, still feeling pain and discomfort, and having acquired additional injuries, Teresa left Western Medicine altogether, trusting that holistic, native and primordial healing methods would be her teachings. This has led her to transformational experiences and growth with plant medicines, yoga therapy, Native American ceremonies and beyond. She has learned that our bodies are designed to talk to us. Teresa feels deeply that although this can be seen to the eye as a physical catastrophe, it is an opening for spiritual awakening, and when all impurity is shed, the body will saturate in infinite spirit. She continues to journey inward and upward and feels that this is her destiny. Teresa has recently spent nearly two years in Peru, a length of that time in a village in the Amazon jungle working with plant medicines, beginning to break open and shed the spiritual crisis and truly grasping this experience as the greatest gift in her life. Teresa was born behind the veil, a Caulbearer, which is considered a good omen in many cultures, and a sign that the bearer is destined to serve mankind.
