Mandated Reporters - Victims Caught in the System

Doctors and Nurses should protect patients from abuse and neglect shouldn't they??? There is a system called Mandated Reporter which obligates all medical professionals to report suspected abuse and neglect of patients and also to report human rights violations. But this system also exposes the Mandated Reporter to intense retaliation and perhaps through fraudulent and exaggerated counterclaims the possible loss of their medical license. So when a medical professional steps forward to protect the vulnerable they are risking their professional lives and may face a grueling battle fighting an abusive system that does not protect the American Public.
