Laurie Hebert is an "ordinary" young woman who works as an occupational therapist in Austin Texas. What's extraordinary about her is how she was able to climb her way out of the horror of the loss ofher ex-boyfriend, Phil, to suicide.

"Some people touch you in such a way that it feels as though you absorb a part of their soul into your own, and that is how it was with Phil.  In grieving for him, I unfortunately encountered stigmas and misconceptions regarding suicide.  I wanted to scream and fight and punch in his defense, but I felt as if I were in quicksand, sinking further into darkness with each urge of resistance.  In order to find my way out of the darkness, I was going to have to unearth an alternate approach.  There came a moment when I felt that the only way to reveal how significant Phil’s soul was and still is, would be to expose and share that part of him that lives in me."
