Letter to the President and the MCTC Center for Civic Engagement

The Center for Civic Engagement is sponsoring a writing activity called a Letter to the President as part of the Global Diversity Week (November 17-20). By then, of course, a new president will be elected but yet to have taken office. We are inviting all students - but particularly international students or students with international or global concerns - to write to the new president, expressing their concerns, their hopes, and their aspirations for their country (or the country of interest) for the coming four years.

The Center will gather the letters during Global Diversity Week - we’ll be staffing a table on the T Building’s 2nd floor - and students will also have a chance to write their letters on the spot if they like. We will display some letters on display boards (with the student’s permission), and all of the letters will be sent to the president via the office of U. S. Representative Keith Ellison, the college’s congressional representative.

If you have any questions, please contact Michael.Kuhne@minneapolis.edu.
