    We're very excited about the upcoming shows we have scheduled for Our View From the Park.  Coming up on September 5, we have Coach Pivec joining us to talk a little men's basketball and who knows what else?  September 19, we're getting ready for Banned Books Week (September 28-October 4) by talking about issues around censorship and media reform.  October brings us shows on civic engagement and the Cancer Kids Fun Comedy Showcase, a fundraising event near and dear to our hearts.  So we hope you'll join us for these great shows, and share them with friends and colleagues!

    Our next show on Friday August 22 at 11 a.m. will focus on library logistics at the beginning of the semester.  The library sees a lot of traffic at the beginning of the semester, from faculty wanting to put materials on reserve, students trying to get those materials, and more.  This show, hosted by Thulani Jwacu and Cory Cain, will address many of those issues, and they will take your calls and questions live.

    In our August 8 show, we'll be talking with Angela Christensen and Murphy Cannon from MCTC's financial aid office about the logistics of financial aid and starting a new semester.  As we approach the start of MCTC's fall semester, students find themselves in the tricky place between waiting for financial aid dollars to become available and the need to purchase texts and other course materials.  Angela and Murphy will share their strategies for getting through these early days with minimal hassles.
