I believe that home based businesses will be the savior of the middle class.

The old model of go to school, get a "good" job, work hard as a loyal employee and then you will be taken care of by the company when you retire, no longer applies.

It worked for my parents, who retired to Phoenix, Az and were able to live on their pension from their City jobs and their social security.

It worked when loyal, hard working employees were needed by the System.

We will revert to the age of the entrepreneur, the lone person or small group of people who will make a living from their homes. However, the difference will be that these business owners will not be lone wolves. Because of the Internet, these home based entrepreneurs can pull together virtual teams of assistants, advisers and other specialties .literally at the drop of a hat. Their efficiency and cost effectiveness will far surpass the old model employee working 9-5 in a shiny downtown office building.

They will form virtual companies organized around specific tasks or objectives. Their profits will be dependent on how well they communicate with one another.
