Catching up on Pirates, Penguins, NHL free agency

Matt Gajtka, the regular host of the Polish Prodigy Podcast, flies solo for the first time in weeks on today's show. The Pittsburgh Pirates are four games above .500 for the first time this late in the season since 1992. The Bucs are also within 1 1/2 games of the first-place St. Louis Cardinals in the wide-open NL Central. Baseball is relevant in Pittsburgh and Matt is more than happy to talk about it. Also, the NHL free agency period has settled down after an uproarious opening 24 hours; did the Penguins do the prudent thing by staying out of bidding wars for largely non-elite players?
