Jeffrey Gurian is often described as a “Renaissance Man”, because of all the things he’s involved in! Bob Saget says that “no one says ‘No’ to Jeffrey Gurian!”
Jeffrey’s comedy writing career really began when Rodney Dangerfield started performing his jokes on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Since then he’s worked with performers ranging from legends like Milton Berle, and Jerry Lewis, to comics like Richard Belzer, the late Phil Hartman, Gilbert Gottfried, Joan Rivers, Pat Cooper, Pauly Shore, Dice Clay, George Wallace, Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, and Amy Poehler.
Paul Provenza, the director of the hit film “The Aristocrats”, wrote the forward to Jeffrey’s first book, “ Filthy, Funny, and Totally Offensive” based on his many years of writing for the famed Friars Roasts.
Jeffrey was a writer/reporter for the legendary Weekly World News where he was given his own column called “Gurian’s World of the Bizarre”, and reported on very unusual stories like “Tap Dancing For The Criminally Insane”, and “Man Paints Replica of the Cistine Chapel With His Beard”.
His short animated films from his comedy news channel GNN (Gurian News Network) like “Man Robs Bank With His Chin”, and “ George Washington Wore Wooden Pants”, were featured at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, in the Short Film Corner.
Jeffrey wrote an award winning film with actor/TV star Scott Baio called “Face to Face” and was also one of the writers of the world’s first interactive film made by Sony Pictures called “ I’m Your Man” with Michael Ian Black and Ben Garant.
