How do we respond to modern day racism?

Two stories regarding racism came to the forefront this week and we will discuss them. The first regarding the rancher in Nevada who has for the last 20 years decided not to pay the grazing fees because he doesn't recognize the existence of the United States Government. 

The second is about Donald Sterling and the audio released by his girlfriend of him making racist comments regarding black people. The question we'll attempt to answer is what is the best response to racism in this fashion when they should themselves? How should Americans respond to a racher who asks if black people would be better off as slaves? How do we respond when the owner of a sports franchise makes racist comments?
