Hi suprgrny ;-)Sorry to hear about your DGS. I'm not a speech therapist but I have watched some of them 'work' and ya know, really it's mostly finding some reward the kid loves that will get them trying. Also, modeling, even over exaggerating your facial movements when showing them how to make a certain sound. I do work with 2 autistic teens and one of them did not know how to make the "S" sound, you know, like in snake or salt? We worked and worked on it, she would even put her eye almost in my mouth trying to figure out how I made the sound, but she finally got it. If he is in school he can get speech therepy there if it is in his educational plan. & you can ask the therapist what you can do at home to help reinforce what she is doing. There are also lots of blogs and websites about different things on the WEb, maybe you could Google this syndrome and see what turns up. Hugs, mary

Hi Mary, My grandson has seizures and he is diagnosed with Landau Kleffner Syndrome. It includes acquired aphasia. Are you a speech therapist? suprgrny (Helene)

    Well, I've been gone for months, but I'm back. The house looks like a train wreck, but the garden is coming along. Will try and get some pics posted too.

    Look out, she's on a ROLL!

    Alrighty, I have a great 4 foot x 4 foot greenhouse window in my kitchen by the dining table. I love it. I rescued it from a junk heap and spent $100 having broken glass replaced. [At the time a new one was upwards of $400-$500]. Over the last couple of years it has become a catchall whenever I was clearing the dining table. In less than 30 minutes I cleared it out, vacumed, killed the colony of spiders [mmm are those reclueses?], and washed it up. It is now home to 2 nice basil plants ;-)

    WhooHooo The Porch Be Done!

    Ok, my little back porch/laundry/utility room is really tiny, but was loaded up with all kinds of stuff. So I jumped in the other day, throwing out trash, cleaning and organizing. After the first two 15 min sessions I was thinking that it would only take like 2 or 3 more and I would be done......Little did I know it would take more like a total of 8 or 10 session., But yeah! it is finally done and I am sooo glad. Besides, it looks like it is twice as big as it was ;-)

    save your marriage

    Having determined that my purpose in life must be to help others [seems what I'm always doing anyway, in some form or fashion] I've decided to try and gather different things together and spread the word through blogs and what nots. Any way I don't know if you ever hear of Amy Waterman or not but she has a 6 day email course and other tools that are fantastic if you are having problems in your relationship. Of course Fly Lady gives us a lot of tools, tips and techniques that work too, but if you need a little more help them you might want to check this out.

    Trying to stay on track

    Well, it sure is easy to get sucked into doing things on the computer and loose track of time! I lost 2 or 3 hours that way this morning! Mostly I was checking out various home based business adventures [most of which are scams!] and the flylady forums. But I've got up and got going and have most of my am routine done, worked in my garden a bit and have gotten some painting done also.

    so GO ME! Now time to get some more done, I want to do at least 2 or 3 15 min declutter sessions today but havne't decided where......
