I will talk with Vicki Reece about her spiritual path and professional work, including her company Joy of Mom.
When Vicki’s children were small, she was so taken back by the violent and negative toys and messages marketed to children that she had do something about it. Vicki conceived, created, and distributed award-winning software, music, and videos for children.
Moms shared Vicki’s vision and wanted to raise the bar of products and entertainment for children. On the back of purely grass-roots and organic momentum, Vicki achieved "#1 Best-Selling Media Product" at Wal-Mart stores and online; "Category Leader" at major retailers such as Sears, Zany Brainy, Discovery Toys, QVC, Toys "R" Us, and Gateway Computers; and was featured in numerous national television shows including: The View, CNN, Fox & Friends...network interviews on: ABC, NBC, CBS, WGN, CLTV...and in over 100 newspaper articles and 75 magazine features including: Women's Day, Parenting, Child, Vanity Fair, The Wall Street Journal, London Times, Chicago Tribune, Detroit Free Press, Gannet Newspapers, and Los Angeles Times. Fast forward twenty extraordinary years.
Prior to founding GoodThings Media, Vicki owned and ran a successful boutique advertising agency, with clients including Fannie May/Fannie Farmer Candies, Ameritech, Kraft, and Sunbeam. She was also a senior executive at WGN Radio in Chicago and has always been a passionate activist on empowering women. Vicki holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Illinois.
