I celebrated the life, love, generosity, friendship, and intellectual creativity of Lavinia Gene Weissman, who passed away on Monday, August 27, after battling cancer.
The Tree of Life
"I was in the presence, of three amazing women- each with their own story, each with their own convictions, each with their own empowerment.
With the giving of one's heart, comes the receiving from another. funny how you may feel like you are the one to be "paying it forward", when in turn you receive so much more. the touching of another one's truth, as it blends with yours- their story of pain & strength, hanging on, believing, encompassing yours. It is like a spark, that ignites yours, igniting each other with words of encouragement.
How life blends our stories together, and gives us opportunities to receive so much more- from the togetherness of these women. I now glance back at yesterday and look at what it was, the day in slow motion, each event connecting with the other, but allowing it,sitting with each moment as it unfold, letting it be.
I am so grateful for these unexpected opportunities, many said, I was the giving one from my heart, to travel and be with loved ones to visit a dying loved one. but when all was said & done, I received the treasures of love- empowered by faith.
The Faith of these women that fill that hospital room, with a magnificent Strength and peace. And, my dying loved one, is not dying yet, as the words that whispered from the lips of one of these inspiring & empowered women, & with a glowing smile on her face... "God isn't finished with you yet."
