I talked with Mathilde Bittner about her spiritual path and professional work. Mathilde is a television producer, writer and director.

Mathilde has been a seeker ever since she can remember. She has always contemplated life's big questions. A French citizen, she was raised in Nigeria and the Ivory Coast and has lived in Italy, the UK, Russia and now Los Angeles. She studied International Relations and Russian at Sussex University in Brighton, UK. After spending a year in Moscow teaching English and working for the Moscow Times, an English language daily paper, she moved to LA to study broadcast journalism at USC.

In her work as a TV producer Mathilde always gravitates towards subjects having to do with identity, spirituality and freedom. She has worked on shows about Transsexuality, exploring what it means to be male or female; Miracles, delving into perceptions of reality, faith and the power of the mind; Psychic abilities, profiling the life of intuitive healer Edgar Cayce; Life and Death; profiling the last months in the lives of two terminally ill patients who seek to redeem themselves before they pass; and multiple other shows for Discovery, National Geographic, Sundance, A&E and The Travel Network.

In the last few years she has begun studying Sanskrit, the "Language of the Gods" and became a certified Hatha yoga instructor. She has also completed a peruvian medicine wheel, which looks to nature as a guide and teacher to help us get into "ayni", a Q'uero term meaning meaning balance, reciprocity, right relationship, and joy. She's also a seasoned traveler and believes that stepping out of your world and
into someone else's is the best way to understand others.
