Attorney Hillman worked for a victim services agency, providing service coordination and group counseling for victims of the September 11th tragedy.  She is an advocate for justice, has worked as a social worker helping children in foster care move towards permanency, as well as removing children from abusive homes.

She has also worked at the District Attorney’s Office, where she investigated white collar crimes, as well as worked with the HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Unit and the Appellate Division.  Attorney Hillman worked at the Department of Justice in the Special Litigation Section of the Civil Rights division; playing a key role in investigations into civil rights violations by police departments and correctional facilities throughout the United States and its territories. She is trained as a mediator, trained in Financial Records Examination and Analysis, and trained as a crisis counselor.
