Episode 375: Strategic Discipline & the Building of a New National Strategy

    in Military

We are in the second month of a new President who is building a new national security team. He and his team come to their positions with a very different view of the world and America's place in it than their predecessors had.
What direction will they take our nation? What role should realism, alliances, and the requirement to anchor all to a strategic discipline focused on the long term interests of our nation have on the decisions they make?
What do his initial steps and the people so far on his team tell us about where we are going? How may we may have to rethink the basic organizing concepts for America’s role in the world?
Our guest for the full hour to discuss this an related issues will be Frank Hoffman.
Frank is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Institute for National Strategic Studies, National Defense University.
He formerly directed the NDU Press operations which includes the journals Joint Force Quarterly and PRISM. From August of 2009 to June 2011, he served in the Department of the Navy as a senior executive as the Senior Director, Naval Capabilities and Readiness. Gerald Celente--Populism Spreads - Clearer Craziness #3492

    in Finance

Populism is sweeping the western world now. It’s getting so bad that the Pope is even speaking out against it. Bill Clinton is out there speaking out against it as well. He’s too busy reaping the rewards of globalism to care about main street. There’s nothing wrong with protectionism when it means protecting yourself. It’s a fundamental human right. During the Great Depression the US sealed off its border from the rest of the world. Why take in others when you can’t properly take care of your own population? And populism is getting ready to score major victories in the Netherlands and France, although that remains in doubt. All things considered, Populism prospects are looking pretty good!

Inflation + Populism = Soaring Gold

    in Business News

Inflation is back, thanks to the past year's global debt and money printing binge. Meanwhile populist politicians are gaining traction in Europe, threatening both the European Union and the eurozone. The world has never seen this combination of excessive financial leverage and widespread political upheaval, so the next few years might be bad for most financial assets and great for real things like gold and silver.

David Lemieux vs Curtis Stevens, Lemieux Almost Murders Curtis Stevens

    in Sports

On today’s flagship episode of Thaboxingvoice podcast, the panel discusses this past weekend’s fights headlined by HBO’s 12 round middleweight attraction between David Lemieux and Curtis Stevens. The Verona card was packed with an interesting undercard compiled of such names as Diego De La Hoya and Yuriorkis Gamboa, but Lemieux’s round 3 knockout stole the show and perhaps the weekend. We will discuss the win and the possibilities for Lemieux.
The weekend was also highlighted by a Friday night ShoBox card featuring Claressa Shields in a scheduled 6 round middleweight affair. This card marked one of the most significant stages for female boxing in decades. We will discuss the significance of the evening as well as the possibility of future female boxing endeavors.
Rounding out this weekend’s action was Juan Francisco Estrada in a scheduled 12 round junior bantamweight bout, Luis Nery in a WBC bantamweight eliminator, and Demetrius Andrade challenging for Jack Culcay's WBA "regular" junior middleweight title.
As always, we will take calls and, time permitting, discuss the hottest stories surrounding boxing.
Nestor “Nes” Gibbs, BoxingMD, and Matthew “The Editor” will talk about today’s event with the TBV family.
