My Story – in 2005 I’ve never really used craigslist too much before for marketing and was quite successful using ebay and my own website for my real estate marketing strategies.
1. Have a website your craigslist ad links back to. a. Why – lead capture – give away some type of report with an irresistible offer ( Eg. – I had an ebook called “117 Insider Secrets from a Millionaire Real Estate Diva”)
b. Why – include more information in a nice format
2. Make your title STAND OUT – use characters, capitalize in on one word
a. (“the Freebie You’ll Never Wear Out”)
3. Include an image in your actual craigslist posting – my split testing has proven to me that images/pictures showing someones face, smiling or people’s face – very effective .
Don’t have a great image of someones ‘face’ – don’t worry – simply go to istockphoto.com and for one dollar, yes one dollar, you can download your own ‘royalty free’ image to use!
(and of course – make sure your image links that back to your site!)
4. Include a ‘call to action’ in your craigslist ad – for instance, if it is a free report or a $17 ebook you are promoting, perhaps say ….only 30 left at this price…OR – say – Limited time Offer – this offer expired in 24 hours…. Start thinking about giving a sense of urgency to your craiglist ads
For real estate, something like: Hurry, won’t last long…or first come first served....’would you like to be the first to be informed of future real estate deals…join our VIP club, it’s risk-free!
