Makings of a Mamapreneur: When It's Time, featuring Chelsea Harper

Welcome to The Makings of a Mamapreneur show! Our debut show will introduce you to our show's mission, to the Mamapreneurs Inc. organization, and the topic of timing: when is it the right time to start your own business as a mamapreneur?

In our debut show, we are featuring Chelsea Harper, owner of Moving to Balance and winner of the Mamapreneurs Inc. first annual Scholarship to Success package. Chelsea founded Moving to Balance in 2005, bringing together movement and creative expression with support for real people during times of change. After having a baby in August 2007 (Eva, now 13 months) and going through several life transitions herself, Chelsea redesigned Moving to Balance to support busy women who juggle family, work, kids, etc. and suddenly find themselves overwhelmed by all the changes. She offers “Life Support” sessions in her NE Portland office (NE 30th and Killingsworth), focusing on the practical aspects of change (what do I need to organize to get through this transition?) as well as the personal aspects (how do these changes affect my sense of myself?). Her services are packaged to be short-term, flexible, and affordable. Chelsea’s professional background and training is in counseling and dance/movement therapy. She has also done project coordination and program management in various mental health and community settings, with an eye for the details and organization that makes programs run successfully.
