What's it like to visit sheltered children in Kenya?

For Deacon Willie McLaughlin, it was a life-changing experience.

In March, 2003, while on a 23-day stay to deliver bibles for a mission project in Africa, Willie happened to tour the Shelter Children Rehab Center of Simba Village in Ngong Town.

After meeting Mrs. May Wambui and her orphans, Willie  knew he had to take action.  His decision was to sponsor 13 children, including a boy who had been abandoned and left in the "bush" during his stay.  But he didn't stop there.

Learn how one man's passion to make a difference resulted in FOSCIK - Friends of Sheltered Children In Kenya -- that continues to reach out to ordinary people, companies and organizations -- to provide food, shelter, lodging, medical support and education for children in need.

Sponsors and volunteers are welcome to travel with FOSCIK each year to provide their personal skills to the children.

In 2008, FOSCIK started its own orphaned shelter and outreach program.  Learn how you can help them make a difference -- for both children and battered women, the homeless, those with substance abuse, and senior citizens.

Everyone makes a difference!
