This is Woman of Color month for The African American Biography Series of 2013.  Our biography for tonight is that of Mrs. Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham. The African American Biography Series of 2013 is documenting Black History on Internet Radio.  With that in mind, I , Laura Gall must say this year long series has something in common with Mrs. Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham.  She, Mrs. Higginbotham, is a Professor of African and African American Studies at Harvard University.  Her writings span diverse fields--African American religious history, women's history, civil rights, constructions of racial and gender identity, electoral politics and the intersection of theory and history.  One of her most cited and reprinted articles is "African American Women's History and the Metalanguage of Race," winner of the best article prize of the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians in 1993.  You are listening to Blogtalkradio.  I'm Laura Gall and the name of my show is You Talk Too Much.  My show airs on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:00 pm est. My call in number is 1-714-242-5273.  You Talk Too Much is proud to bring to you the biography of Mrs. Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham.  Please enjoy the show. Thank you for listening.
