Good evening everyone.  The African American Biography Series of 2013 brings to you tonight the life of a legend, Berry Gordy, Jr.  He was born in 1929 the seventh child of Berry Gordy, Sr. and Bertha Fuller Gordy.  He tried many careers:  boxing, record store owner and assembly line worker.  Berry Gordy, Jr. is also a veteran of the Korean War.  He finally landed on the career he loved in the world of entertainment.  He was a gifted songwriter and cowrote hits for entertainer Jackie Wilson.  With $800 in hand Berry Gordy, Jr. set out in 1959 to produce records and musical acts.  That music and the entertainers became know as Motown. The rest is history.  You are listening to Blogtalkradio.  I'm Laura Gall and the name of my show is "You Talk Too Much".  My theme this year is The African American Biography Series of 2013.  The purpose of this series is to document Black History on internet radio, Blogtalkradio.  My call in number is 1-714-242-5273.  Please enjoy the show.
