Baxter began volunteering 7 years ago at San Diego Hospice. In a place created for making goodbyes gentler, Baxter comforted everyone who crossed his path. He licked tears from grieving faces, gave hugs to those at a loss for words, and warmed the hearts and souls of those who were making their transition. He would take his body and curled himself next to a patient for hours, making this intense eye contact that penetrated the human spirit in everyone, proving his undeniable loyalty, love, and sensitivity. Everyone loved Baxter! Melissa will be here to talk about Baxter, his life, his legacy and his book "Moments With Baxter". I asked Melissa what she would like me to say about Baxter on this show page and she said "I think what's important is that Baxter's book is for charity, for animal causes and that it's a benchmark for pet assisted therapy programs across the country. What a great interview. Baxter's face is otherwordly, he was more like a lion than a dog. And yeah, that crazy myth about animals not having souls is a bunch of baloney as every living thing has a soul but some have a more heightened sense of their soul's work like Baxter. I hope he's up at Rainbow Bridge reunited with God and all those who he touched while he was down here in the Earth School.
