Host, LaDonna Raeh talks to Charron Monaye. CHARRON MONAYE is a dynamic lyricist, activist, poet and author who have inspired many through her writings.  Her gift of poetry and love for addressing social issues were first witnessed by her mother at the age of 12, after she recited her award-winning poem “ALONE”. In 2011, she released her first book of poetry entitled, “My Side of the Story”, which shares the thoughts, emotions, and fears of a girl trying to find love, happiness, and her dreams in the midst of life’s obstacles. Her follow-up book of poetry entitled “Living, Laughing, and Loving My Way Through” will encourage you to laugh, love, and move forward in any facet of life in order to live freely and happy is slated to be released on June 29, 2012. 

In the height of her writing career, Charron Monaye was given the opportunity to pen “Living Your Life” ~ The Stage Play, Directed by Walter DeShields, and Produced by Pink Star Entertainment. This production is a story that asks the question, “What are you willing to lose or give up in order to be successful, Yourself or your Spouse!!!!” This play will open in  Philadelphia, PA  and run from September 26, 2012 to September 30, 2012 at the Adrienne Theater.

Her poetry has also been published in books such as The Poetic Lounge, Volumes 1 & 2, A Poetically Spoken Anthology Vol. 1, Famous Poets of the Heartland, Tears of Fire, Homeless Cry, and Saving Lives through Lit. In addition, to books, her poetry has been turned into soulful lyrics and can be found on music CD’s such as, Mix 1620 Mixtape Vol. 211 (2010), WJSP 91.2FM - Underground Radio, Mixtape (2010), The Truth By ML The Truth (2010), Real R & B Music by ML The Truth (2012), Converse Open Gym Mixtape Vol. 2 (2012) and I’m Ready by Illadelp (2012).
