You both immediately latched onto it in the simplest way, too! Blaire said something along the lines of, "Oh I can't stand beta males!" The male guest (sorry, I don't see your name listed above) said, essentially, "I only like hanging out with Alpha males." Categorize everyone on this simple point, and you'll never look beyond those surface qualities that you define as Alpha or Beta. That's all.

To put it in terms that women can feel - what if you all women were classified as either pretty or homely? Not every woman can be pretty, and those that aren't are homely. Are you feeling insecure yet? There are many other qualities of women and men that are better, more positive ways to define them. I'm not saying there aren't Alpha or Beta qualities, either. Just saying that it's been oversimplified.

It means there's a big grey area in this classification scheme! Plus, such a simple system is apt to create insecurity in many men. "Am I a beta male? I'm gregarious, enjoy telling jokes, and know what I want in social situations and life. There are some areas where I do not always know what I want, or feel uncomfortable asking for something. Does this make me a Beta male? No, of course not! It means
