Listen as Success Integration Coach Syd Vitale and Intuitive Relationship Coach Geralyn St Joseph discuss “In Sickness & In Health: How Illness Affects Relationships.”

Another key to a happy, lasting relationship is learning what your partner wants and needs in times of illness. Everyone has their own way of dealing with times of frailty, whether it be an illness like the flu or a physical disability (short or long term). Today we talk about more common, short-term issues such as the flu. After all-'tis the season!

We need to learn our partner's healing style and how it relates to our own. Generally, we will treat our partners the way we want them to treat us when we are sick.  However just as we may need to adopt different styles of expressing our love in general, we also may need to adjust when it comes to helping them deal with an illness or injury.  When you’re ill, do you like to be pampered or would you rather be left alone? Do you want to be waited on, or do you try to do everything on your own when you are injured? What is your partner’s style? What happens in your relationship when one of you becomes sick?  If you learn how to handle your partner when they are not feeling completely up to par, it can definitely head off unnecessary issues.  It will also help YOU to keep your energy levels up where they should be.
